Finding New People to Teach

Blake and Elder Slade listened to the promptings of the spirit and found some new people to teach, and they came to church last Sunday. While there the new investigators met some people they already knew so they hit it off quite well. Blake is really enjoying studying the gospel and made the comment that he wishes he had spent more time reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible before leaving for his mission. He thinks will will likely stay in the same area for a few more months before he gets transferred. He said that he and his early childhood friend Jordan Westbrook have been corresponding quite a bit.

Blake in Gonzalo on P-Day

I uploaded some pictures of Blake's P-Day trip in Gonzalo, which is out in the country. He is currently teaching a famous musician and his sons. I also included some pictures of some Haitians playing dominos. In their game, if you lose you have to put close pins on your face. Check it out!

Blake is Losing Weight

Blake and his new companion are doing well.  They are teaching some new people who are very interested.  He says he is losing weight because none of his pants fit him anymore. He even had some tailored for him and they are still too big. Blake has been keeping up with most of his friends from Sky View which is fun for him to hear how they are all doing. 

New pictures of some kids with whom he shared some of the candy his mom sent him (candy bracletts.)

Blake has a new companion

Elder Slade (Red Hair) is Blake's new companion. Blake is in the same area called Leyenda which is really close to the city of Santo Domingo. He says it has been raining a lot lately and that causes all of the investigators to stay home from church. I added a couple new pictures of his recent and new companion, as well as a "picture of the old man, his name is Fransisco. he is really into cock fighting so he is plucking his rooster, getting it ready for the fight."

I have uploaded some photos that Blake sent to us from the DR. He and his companion have had some success as you will see in the pictures. His first companion out of the MTC was a good cook, but now he has a new companion. He hasn't told us much about him yet.
